6th Grade English

Expectations

Please read and sign at the bottom of the page:

In 6th grade English, students will:

• Read for half an hour a day.  Guidelines for reading are at http://www.dmturner.org/English/Reading/SSR.htm

• Memorize and recite a poem once a month.  Guidelines for poems are at http://www.dmturner.org/English/Poetry/index.html

• Write assignments down and do all homework.  Assignments are also available from the office or at http://www.dmturner.org/English/Assignments/index.html

• Review for quizzes.  All quizzes (even perfect ones) must be signed by a parent.  This counts as a homework assignment.

• Do all the assigned reading.

• Write in their own words.  Guidelines are at http://www.dmturner.org/English/Writing/plagiar.html
