Main->Readings->4th Grade Readings->Matter In Motion->Unit Review
For the unit test, you should:
1. Give the definitions of these vocabulary words:
accelerationballistics
contact force
deceleration
energy
entropy
field force
force
gravity
inertia
kinetic energy
momentum
physicist
potential energy
power
projectile
vector
velocity
work
2 Give Newton's First Law.
3. Explain what friction is and how it causes problems for Newton's First Law.
4. List the ways a force can affect the motion of an object.
5. Give Newton's Third Law and list two real-life examples.
6. Explain why Newton's Laws mean you should wear a seat belt.
7.Tell why falling objects accelerate, or keep going faster and faster.
8. Say that two objects dropped at the same time from the same height should hit the ground at the same moment, unless air friction interferes.
9. Explain the curved path of thrown objects.
10. Give examples of objects with kinetic energy and with potential energy.
11. In a paragraph, talk about how matter behaves when it is in motion, giving examples from your own life. You should be able to talk about how you have seen and experienced things such as: speed, velocity, acceleration, friction, gravity, collisions, kinetic and potential energy, entropy, and Newton's Laws. For instance, if you have ever ridden in an automobile, taken a bike ride, or played a sport, you could probably talk about all of those things just from that experience.

In addition, you should review the "stretch" notes in your journal. One five-point question on the test is always from this information.
