Animals With Backbones: Review

 

For the unit test, you should:

1. Give the definitions of these vocabulary words:

2. Explain what an animal is, and the difference between vertebrate and invertebrate animals.

3. List the names of the five classes of vertebrates, from the first to appear on Earth to the latest.

4. Tell, for each class of vertebrate animals:

5. Explain how fish breathe with gills.

6. Show you understand how an animal's traits can help an animal, by giving examples.

7. Explain what metamorphosis is and give the steps in a frog life cycle.

8. In a paragraph, tell what is alike and what is different for two classes of vertebrate animals.

9. Explain what a scientific theory is, and give the reasons why scientists believe life evolved on Earth from single-celled living things.

In addition, you should review the "stretch" notes in your journal. One five-point question on the test is always from this information.
