Unit Review

For the test, you should:

1. Know the meaning of the following vocabulary words (to review them, look them up in the readings or the glossary, or even better, use your notes in your journal).

2.  For each kingdom we studied in this chapter (protists, fungi, and monerans) and for viruses, you need to know:

3.  For organisms in general, you should know:

4.  You should be able to compare and contrast members of different kingdoms. That is, you should be able to tell how two kingdoms are alike and how they are different.

5.  You should be able to talk about life on Earth - what it's made out of, the definition of an organism, and how organisms can be so different in shape, size, and behavior and yet so similar in their "activities of life." You need to show you understand why scientists argue about whether some things are "living" or not.

6.  In addition, you should review the "stretch" notes in your journal. One five-point question on the test is always from this information.
