After school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30, The Haverford
School offers fencing to 3rd through 5th graders as part of the after-school
program, the Haverford Center for Enrichment program. This is an opportunity
to investigate the exciting sport and training involved in fencing. A true
mind and body sport, fencing improves a boy's problem solving abilities,
hand-eye coordination, speed, stamina, and strength. Fencers must analyze
and think at the speed of their own reflexes. The instructor, Delia Turner,
is a nationally competitive fencer and an experienced United States Fencing
Association certified coach. Fee includes instruction, USFA membership,
insurance through USFA, and use of equipment. Enrollment is limited. Please
get in touch with the Lower School office at 610-642-3020 if you are interested.
Instructors: Dr. Turner and an assistant.
