For Visitors

Welcome!  I'm Delia Turner, a science teacher at The Haverford School in Haverford, Pennsylvania, a pre-K-12 independent school for boys.

This Web site is for my science students (fourth and fifth grade).  I use the web site as a teaching tool (on my display monitor), and as a learning tool for my students.   They use it in class during group work and during their twice-weekly computer class.  Many of my students also check out this site when they're at home.

This site has their text, homework assignments, instructions on how to do regular assignments, subject-matter Web links, lists of search engines, test-review sheets, projects, and any number of funny, interesting, and cool facts and links I've found along the way.

I'm not an unquestioning fan of the Web.  Letting kids surf without supervision, as I tell the parents of my students, is like dropping them off at the mall and saying, "See you tomorrow." Monitored and guided, however, the Internet is a wonderful resource.

Feel free to explore this site and borrow (and change) any ideas you like.  Please let me know if you do!  I'll be delighted to hear from you.
